Tie plate is also called a baseplate or sole plate, which is used in rail construction to support the rails.
Tie plates are generally used to take the load of rail and distribute the load to the sleepers offering proven economies.
The primary function of a tie plate or sole plate is to provide the rail with a flat, smooth resting surface while allowing for vertical alignment of the rail system. Tie plates are secured by Anchor Bolts, also known as Holding Down Bolts.
Sole plates are typically installed with a layer of grout cast beneath, which fills the void between the soleplate and the concrete foundation.

What is Rail Tie Plate
Rail tie plate also called rail base plate or sole plate is a main component in railroading construction of a crane rail or track support system.Rail tie plates are used not only to support the rails, but also to fix the entire rail fastening systems. It always works together with anchor bolts or spikes by sustaining the load of a rail track and also transferring part of the load to the tie sleepers, with a flat smooth resting surface to guarantee the vertical alignment and hold the rail in correct gauge for a rail line system.

Rail Tie Plate Manufacture and Types

Base Plates for KPO Fastening System
A rail base plate is a key part in KPO fastening system to support the rail and fix the whole fastening systems, tied onto the rail with rail bolts and railroad spikes.
Single Shoulder Tie Plate
For the tie plates of single shoulder, the shoulder is designed at the field end of the plate. The plate's short end or gauge end is placed inside of the rail track, and that why the rail base width is always required from clients. Single shoulder tie plates are usually used by rails weights running from 56lb though 100 lb.
Base Plates for America Market
For American market, the common sizes include 11inches, 14inchies and 14-3/4inches tie plate, they are generally for 5-1/2inches and 6inches width rail base.

What is the Role Rail Tie Plate Play in Rail Fastening System
Tie plate or sole plates are needed in rail installation, as they not only support the rails, but also enable the entire fastening system to be fixed on. Rail tie plates are the uppermost component of a crane rail or track support system. The primary function of a tie plate or sole plate is to provide the rail with a flat, smooth resting surface while allowing for vertical alignment of the rail system. Tie plates are secured by Anchor Bolts, also known as Holding Down Bolts. Soleplates are typically installed with a layer of grout cast beneath, which fills the void between the soleplate and the concrete foundation.
The holes for bolting the anchor and leveling bolts, and holes for bolt through clips if present, are precisely drilled into the sole plates. For weldable clips and base clips, the bottom of the clip is welded onto the sole plates before galvanizing. We can manufacture any quantities big or small and try to accommodate our customer requests, although it is more economical to manufacture larger quantities.
